SCX 4100 on Kanotix 2005-04 at Parallel Port

Hello all out there,
Hints to get this machine working under different distros are mostly pointed to connection at the USB-Ports. Printing from parallel port ist reported rarely. For some reasons I had to use the connection per parallel port.
First I tried the samsung driver packages from -156 over -165 to the new Unified Driver. ALL messed up the (debian-based) system; printing was not possible. A look into the comments on linuxprinting.org showed that samsung does really strange things to the used libs.
Because I'm not able to fix the samsung scripts and libs I tried it the simple way:
1. extract from the samsung UNIFIED DRIVER package into a temporary folder:
rastertosamsungpcl
rastertosamsungspl
rastertosamsungsplc
scx4100.ppd
(I dont know which of the rasterto* ist really necessary, the .ppd names the
*spl version.)
2. copy the rasterto* to /usr/lib/cups/filter
3. ark the scx4100.ppd to scx4100.ppd.gz
4. copy the scx4100.ppd.gz to /usr/share/cups/model/foomatic-ppds/samsung
5. copy scx4100.ppd to /etc/cups/ppd
6. copy scx4100.ppd to /usr/share/cups/model
The last two steps maybe unnecessary - I didn't try to find out.
This works: The scx can be defined as Printer using localhost:631 or the KDE-Tool from Menu. The Printer is shown connected to the parallel port.
The printer prints and with kprinter you can reach all the preferences. The printer test page (started in the printer comes without any errors or problems.
BUT: If I start a print job from any program (OOo.org 1.07 to 2.0, Kate, KGhostview etc.), the page preview shows a complete side, but the firt 17mm from the top of the sheet are _not_ printed. The paper definitions in the ppd file seem to be ok. Until now I could not find any reason for this behavior.
Any hints are highly welcome.
